Farrow & Ball Faves!

Hey, friends!

When I shared our bathroom and pantry last week on INSTAGRAM, I got a few questions on the color that I shared —Pigeon by Farrow and Ball. Is it green? Is it beige? Is it gray? I think it’s safe to say that Pigeon is ALL of those colors, but I think it has some green undertones (at least in my spaces).

I did a quick roundup of my favorite Farrow and Ball Colors. I love that Farrow and Ball does not have thousands of colors on their site because to be honest, I can sometimes face a bit of decision paralysis when it comes to selecting colors for my own home, as well as for clients.

My biggest paint color tips:

  1. GET SAMPLES. Not just the paper swatch. Spend the few bucks at Home Depot or Lowe’s and grab a sample can to try out on your wall. Make sure you paint a reasonably-sized swatch on EACH wall of your room and check out how it looks in the morning, noon, and nighttime.

  2. Finalize your lighting before you settle on paint colors. I learned this one by my own error. I chose a paint color that I LOVED, updated the light fixture, and that beige-gray was all of a sudden reading PURPLE. Get that final lighting up first before you make any color decision.

  3. Get color-matches for designer paint colors! My experience/understanding is that places like Lowe’s and Home Depot have access to various companies’ color catalogs and they are able to color-match paint colors for you!

Without further ado, here are my top Farrow and Ball picks! I have used many of these colors in various capacities, both in my own home and/or in clients’ designs.
